Type of drug rehabilitation treatments
Rehabilitation is an extremely important aspect in recovery. In order to better understand the importance of rehabilitation, here is its definition:
Rehabilitation: To restore to good health or useful life, as through therapy and education. (American Heritage Dictionary fourth edition).
When you seek for a Drug rehab treatment program, make sure that it will assist the drug addict in achieving rehabilitation. Ensure that the drug rehab treatment will restore the drug addict’s ability, and that it will get the drug addict to function well in life without substitute. Addiction is a mean to avoid and get rid of a physical or emotional pain. For instance, if an individual is shy, he/she takes a beer and then become more talkative. Every time that he/she will need to communicate that’s the way he/she will utilize to be able to function in a social situation. This is a classic example of the way an addiction will develop. Rather than getting the individual to “live with his problem”, you need to help the individual to improve his ability. Drugs and Alcohol are a result of an inability to deal with life.
Drug rehab centres over the decades have derived from the real meaning of rehabilitation. Various methods of recovery began and they lost the true meaning of what rehabilitation is. Ensure that the rehabilitation program addresses the true issue and bring the drug user on top of it. Then the drug addict will finally get his ability and life back.

Twelve steps:
The Twelve Steps traditional program is a time tested method of recovery from different obsessive-compulsive behaviours which the affected individuals think have made their lives unmanageable. These simple tools for living have been utilized by millions of addicts to successfully change their lives and recover from negative and even life threatening behaviours. The Twelve Steps are based on a set of Spiritual (not religious) principles and were first created by Alcoholics Anonymous in the United States in 1935. Anonymity as a Spiritual principle is the guideline of the Twelve Steps way approach. Sharing and supporting in groups with like-minded individuals and ongoing fellowship is an important ingredient in the success of the Twelve Step program.
Here are the twelve steps:
1. The addicted individual; admits he is powerless over alcohol — that his life had become unmanageable.
2. The addicted individual comes to believe that a Power greater than himself could restore his sanity.
3. The addicted individual makes the decision to turn his will and his life over to the care of God.
4. . The addicted individual makes a searching and fearless moral inventory of himself
5. The addicted individual admits to God, to himself, and to another human being the exact nature of his wrongs.
6. The addicted individual is entirely ready to have God remove all his defects of character.
7. The addicted individual humbly asks God to remove his shortcomings.
8. The addicted individual makes a list of all persons he harmed, and is willing to make amends to them all.
9. The addicted individual makes direct amends to such individuals wherever possible, except when to do so would injure him or others.
10. The addicted individual continues to take personal inventory and promptly admits where he was wrong.
11. The addicted individual seek prayer and meditation to improve his conscious contact with God as he understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, the addicted individual tries to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all his affairs.
The Twelve Steps handle various "issues" such as Alcohol abuse, Drug abuse, overeating abuse, gambling etc.

Long term religious based program:
The purpose is to get the drug addict out of his environment for a year or two and to get him into a hard work camp with a religious concept and get the individual back in contact with God through prayers and bible study. A small amount of drug addicts actually completes the program (approximately 10%). About 20% of them stay clean from hard drugs after completion. Because of its long term, the religious based program is generally not available for the majority of addicts, and there are extensive waiting lists.

|
Behavioural modification:
A behavioural program is based on attempting to break the drug addict character up trough peer pressure. A behavioural program is based on telling to the drug addicts that they are bad and degrading people. The purpose is to break the spirit of the drug addict into something that can be rebuilt. It is occasionally effective as a small percentage will rebuild into a harmless individual.

Biophysical Treatment:
The biophysical treatment addresses the biophysical and biochemical imbalances with a sauna program that eliminates toxins from the body. The sauna program will eliminate drug cravings. It is followed by a social educational program that teaches new life skills. The drug addict will then be able to tackle life’s several hardships and come out on top. The individual will develop new skills such as learning and practicing to communicate properly and learning about personalities in order to be able to associate with good people. An important component of the biophysical program is the ability to live life based on ones personal views but within the morals of our society.
This culminates with the drug addict applying these skills to repair the damages and things that are holding him back in life now. Indeed, the individual repairs things from his past that are frequently holding him back from living a happy successful and drug free life.
The final step is tailored specifically for the individual by the case supervisor of the biophysical program, once he/she has been able to determine what the individual needs to work on specifically to ensure its success.
The biophysical program is successful. It brings the individual to be a happy, productive, drug free member of society.
